Courses
ABOUT THE COURSES
The Master’s and Doctoral Program in Collective Health is on-site and bi-annual.
The PPGSC/UFSC Courses are taught weekly throughout the semester, according to each course’s teaching plan.
Classes are held once a week, and the day and time frame varies each semester.
The COURSE GRID for the semester is published on the PPGSC website before the beginning of the academic semester.
COURSE FORMAT (on-site or synchronous)
UFSC graduate programs offer the possibility of fully or partially synchronous courses. A synchronous teaching activity is one in which professors’ and students’ simultaneous participation occurs in real-time through an audio and video system. Synchronous teaching activities are regulated by the UFSC Graduate Chamber Resolution (CPG/UFSC). The primary rules are set out below:
- Graduate Programs (PPGs) will offer up to 25% (twenty-five percent) of the courses through synchronous teaching activities in each academic semester, with the fraction greater than 0.5 (zero comma five) computed as 1 (one).
- The workload allocated to synchronous teaching activities in the other courses offered on-site cannot exceed 25% (twenty-five percent) of the total workload of the course.
Currently, at PPGSC/UFSC, only elective courses can be offered in 100% synchronous modality by collegiate decision. Before each academic semester, the collegiate analyzes and approves the table of courses with the respective format and workload of each course.
